If you get tough on Littering that means you have better control how garbage gets disposed of. Let's take a look at how Mobile businesses are doing at disposing of their trash.
Mobile residents do not seem to care about how much trash is in and along their precious waterways including Mobile Bay. Neither do the City Leaders. Welcome to the slum of Mobile where the city is taking on the appearance of a third world country. The disharmony among Mobile city council members ranks up there with the disharmony of the use of City taxpayer money in Mobile. Someone recently repaired the broken litter trap. The City's litter trap has never worked properly since it was installed in 2012. Why is the City still wasting money on it? As seen here in a photo taken this afternoon on May 9th after a brief rain, the litter trap boom was under water again. Trash was observed flowing past the litter trap as usual. That means the train of Eslava Creek's unrestrained storm water trash pollution keeps moving downstream into Dog River despite a 2012 lawsuit to stop the violations of the federal Clean Water Act. The City's environmental services director recent told me she is going to get tough on the litter pollution problem in Mobile. I don't listen to what City of Mobile officials say -I look at what they do. When workers walk over the shoreline litter in Eslava Creek leaving it there to be washed downstream, that speaks loudly. The City still does not care about how much garbage they send into Dog River. There are ugly consequences to the City of Mobile for ignoring their public's litter once it reaches the waterways. |
