If children were out playing in the street instead of in a nearby playground, someone would be in big trouble. Police would frown on children playing in the streets. Parents would be labeled as irresponsible if they allowed their children to play in the streets.
But what if those playing in the streets are adults? In this photo, there are three bicyclists riding three abreast taking up the entire lane. The issue here is right next to the road is the Eastern Shore Trail made for pedestrians and bicyclists. Instead of riding on the nice wide smooth concrete trail these adult bicyclists choose to play and socialize in the lane of traffic.
This is just another example of irresponsible bicycle riding. Why should Cities construct bicycle trails if bicyclers choose not to use them?
