Despite complaints the City of Mobile kept ignoring the City's storm water litter in Dog River in violation of the federal Clean Water Act. So, an environmental group called Dog River Clearwater Revival finally sued the City of Mobile in February 2012.
In the lawsuit it states, "Dog River Clearwater Revival is more concerned that the subject illegal trash pollution cease through whatever means necessary, including the removal of such trash pollution from Dog Diver after discharge."
Even after the lawsuit, the trash pollution along Dog River was not removed in 2012 or 2013. Nor has the City of Mobile ceased discharging trash pollution into Dog River.
Well, 2014 is almost over and the City's of Mobile's storm water litter along Dog River still has not ceased or been removed. Why not? Because the City of Mobile still has no one working full time removing trash from the shoreline of Dog River.
I guess two fines and two lawsuits against the City of Mobile have not taught the Mobile City Council and Mayor of Mobile anything yet. Three years and no change.
It is time for the United States Environmental Protection Agency to file criminal charges against the Mobile City Council Members and the Mayor of Mobile for continuing to ignore the trash pollution along Dog River which the City was complicit in putting there.
