Far as I could tell, compared to three days ago,
there was no coastal cleanup in Bayou La Batre on Saturday.
The photos speak for themselves.
Keep in mind that water fowl like the Pelican pictured above
can suffer from chemicals in and on the water
which could harm their feathers and other body parts.
I'm also reminded how nit-picky the Corps of Engineers can be
when it comes to home owners or construction projects disturbing sensitive wetlands.
And what does the United States Corps of Engineers do
about the pollution of Bayou La Batre wetlands?
Nothing.
Wetlands are apparently only important to the U.S. Corps of Engineers for collecting permit fees.
Apparently the Federal Clean Water Act does not apply to Bayou La Batre.
In real life, if this is how Bayou La Batre openly cares for its waterway,
just think how little they care about the seafood they process behind closed doors.
