A Dog River Clearwater Revival (DRCR) member was heard on the news recently saying the City of Mobile probably does not have the money to put people out in boats removing waterway pollution and that the Litter Trap is the solution. That kind of thinking is why Dog River Park looked like this today. A litter trap is not the solution to the pollution - removing the pollution is the solution. Why is no one removing this pollution?
If BP dealt with tar ball pollution like the City of Mobile deals with storm water trash pollution, BP would install a single Tar Ball Trap somewhere on Dauphin Island and that would be all they do to keep hundreds of miles of beaches free of tar balls. You can see the folly of that type of response to environmental pollution.
