According to City of Mobile Municipal Litter Code, Sectino 25-42, Litter Receptacles, (c)(3), "Litter receptacles on any premise shall be serviced with such frequency as necessary to prevent spillage from overflow..."
Here are recent photos from another City of Mobile park, this one Helen Wood Park. The open barrel trash containers without lids are often seen overflowing with trash. The City Parks Department is obviously in violation of the City's own Municipal Litter Code. No wonder why the City of Mobile continues to be so UGLY with trash.
Will the City of Mobile fine the City of Mobile Parks Department for violations of the Litter Code? Doubtful.
Yup - with reference to trash management in City of Mobile Parks it is the Same old Shit. Because the City of Mobile changes nothing, nothing changes. It is litter as usual.
But, the City that cannot afford to keep their parks clean has plenty of money to install synthetic turf at Herndon Park costing over a Million Dollars. And the installation proceeds on despite possible exposure to toxic chemicals in the artificial turf kicked up by participants.
I smell corruption.
