Above Photo: A City of Mobile trash truck sits unoccupied, parked in the middle of the Gaillard Drive traffic lane for at least 15 minutes by the Mobile Tennis center. Isn't there a requirement to put out warning hazard triangles for vehicles broken down in the street? Or was the City worker who left the truck running (not broken down) just having a nice chat with someone on company time while putting the public at risk by leaving the truck running in the middle of the street? I didn't wait to see how long the vehicle was left wasting gas in the street.
Below Photo: An hour later, in Municipal Park I see another City of Mobile trash truck (not sure if it was the same one) next to another City vehicle and the drivers are out of their vehicles having a good old chat. Sure hope it was their lunch break, but, don't people on lunch breaks normally eat lunch?
No, I have a feeling these are Black city workers doing as little work as possible to cripple Public Works which has a new White executive director who recently replaced the controversial Black one. Blacks probably want to cripple Public Works because the White mayor took away the raise the previous Black mayor promised them. I say Black and White only because the Government continues to insist tan people are classified as such.
Personally, I have never seen a black person or a white person. Every one I know is some shade of tan. But, when you have people related to Martin Luther King who create a TV Station (Bounce) that constantly run ads that bring up the unfortunate 1950 "Whites Only" attitudes, that is one way to trigger Black anger against Whites to keep the race hate going.
There are a lot of Black-White issues in City politics as witnessed recently by the disturbing Mobile City Council's behaviors. Shame on the City Council!
For those who think all I do is criticize, I do commend new Police Chief James Barber for the excellent job he has been doing to snuff out the drug trade in Mobile regardless of race. I also commend the new Mayor Sandy Stimpson for taking steps to ease the racial tensions within the City. God only knows how softly Mayor Stimpson must tread while doing City business with people who still "Bounce" around in the segregated past.
