Mayor Stimpson recently got in front of the news cameras and displayed a Mobile map jam-packed with red dots. It was public complaints about decaying infrastructure like sidewalks that needed to be fixed. City capital improvement projects that the last sorry ass mayor neglected to address.
Wisely, Mayor Stimpson's proposed budget attempts to get Mobile out of the Charity business and significantly increases the Capital Improvement budget to fix the backlog of over 800 infrastructure projects.
If the Mobile City Council was as enthusiastic about fixing the obvious problems in Mobile as Mr. Stimpson is, Mobile could one day be a desirable place to live.
Will the dying dogs on the City Council insist on continuing to use tax payer money on entitlement programs and charities or will they run a City the way it should be run? I'm beginning to like the direction that Mayor Stimpson is taking the City.
