This is a prime example of cause and effect pollution. The source point for this plastic bag pollution is very obvious. When it rains some of Walmart's plastic bag litter that has blown in the drainage ditch on the north side of their parking lot ends up being flushed downstream. Some of those bags get caught on the shoreline limbs about 3.5 miles downstream in Eslava Creek. Plastic bags are also caught on underwater limbs creating a hazardous environment for marine life.
The first thing the City of Mobile should do after it passes harsher litter laws is fine the hell out of Walmart for polluting Dog River watershed. Walmart needs to be responsible for removing their store related litter surrounding their property including from the drainage ditch.
