Industrial Canal in Mobile Alabama is polluted with trash as seen in this photo taken the other day.
Just who is responsible for keeping the waterways clean in Mobile and Alabama? Someone is not doing their job. Forget firing someone. There needs to be criminal charges brought up on someone in Alabama for continuing to ignore pollution in Three Mile Creek watershed.
Where the hell are the Environmental Enforcement Agencies like ADEM and the US EPA? This trash is not hidden, it is in plain sight of Conception Street Road. Some of this trash like the propane tanks and whatever is in the aerosol cans could be hazardous to marine life and the public.
What is absolutely pathetic is there are three local environmental groups, Mobile Baykeeper, Alabama Coastal Foundation, and Mobile Bay National Estuary Program with offices about a mile away from this very visible pollution. Government offices are only a mile away.
Despite years of complaints about the trash in the waterways in this area to State and Federal Environmental Enforcement Agencies and local Environmental Groups, nothing has been done yet to get the City, County or State motivated enough to get the waterway trash removed.
Yup, it is pollution as usual in Mobile's waterways.
Meanwhile, Environmental Enforcement Agencies like ADEM and the US EPA seem to be nothing put paper pushing permitting agencies that seem to have absolutely no authority to get this existing pollution cleaned up.
Meanwhile, local Environmental Groups are busy fund raising, hosting parties, supporting bicycle rides, and wasting money on shoreline restoration projects while the pollution like this a mile away from their offices is ignored year after year.
That is UGLY!
