Overflowing trash cans are so typical of how the City Parks are kept in Mobile. Not only are the City's trash cans not emptied often enough, the City of Mobile and the Parks Department seem to have low expectations on how users of the public parks are to behave.
Responsible usage would be for fishing people to bend over to pick up their trash off the ground and properly dispose of it. Obviously, most fishing pigs using Helen Wood Park are totally irresponsible when it comes disposal of their trash.
As long as City litter enforcement has such low expectations for the users of its public parks, trashy parks will continue to be normal. Welcome to Mobile, the City of Low Expectations.
Sure glad I'm not in charge of City parks. I'd hire someone to monitor fishing pigs, catch the littering crimes on video, and would let the police file a warrant on the criminals. I'd also put up a sign saying if the park remains littered, the park will be shut down and that would not be an idle threat. Fishing pigs will never appreciate the free access they have until the lose it.
The City of Mobile doesn't need to be baby sitting and cleaning up behind irresponsible fishing pigs. Run their ass out of town. Or at least, fine the hell out of littering fishing pigs so the City can afford to empty Park trash cans more often.
