On any given trash day somewhere in the City of Mobile you can see trash on the ground next to recently emptied City Residential trash containers.
It often looks looks like trash has fallen to the ground during the City Garbage Collection process. That would mean the City of Mobile Public Works is responsible for littering the roadsides throughout Mobile about six days a week.
Many disgruntled residents have adopted the attitude, "Well, I didn't put the trash on the ground so I ain't bending over to pick it up." What is going to happen when the City of Mobile starts issuing fines to home owners for trash on their property that the City put there? Hmmm. Gonna be trouble...
Will the City of Mobile Environmental Enforcement Unit fine the City of Mobile Public Works for littering when the City trucks go down the road spewing out loose litter or when the City garbage collection truck sends litter to the ground during the weekly residential trash collection process? Probably not.
Yeah Boy, Mobile's tough new litter code and enforcement is doing so good that it looks like the litter pollution around Mobile streets is increasing, not decreasing.
