The majority of states no longer have required vehicle inspections since Congress dropped its authority to withhold highway construction money if a state did not have regular inspections. While safety inspections may not be effective in reducing accidents rates, I wonder if they researched if inspections help cap the leaking oil well?
BP got it's ass royally fined for polluting the Gulf of Mexico with crude oil. Mobile however is not required to cap its oil leak. Got allergy problems? Is there evaporating oil, grease, powersteering, radiator and brake fluid in the air?
